Hospital Bag

When you are about 36 weeks pregnant it is time to start packing the essentials you’ll need during labour and birth and for after your baby is born.

Must have for you:-

The birth plan (if you have one)

A dressing gown and pajamas

Change of clothes

A couple of pair of socks – hospital floors can be cold

Maternity bras with nursing pads

A change of clothes

Lip balm – hospitals are very dry

Sugar-free hard sweets to keep your mouth moist during labor

Snacks for when you are feeling peckish, remember hospital food is not that great

Water spray or a hand-held fan, to cool you down while you’re in labour

Mobile phone and charger – to call people after the birth

Camera and charger

Must have for your baby:-

Nappies – your newborn baby will go through as many as 12 in a day

A couple of sleep suits

Muslin squares – to mop up any milk your baby brings up

An outfit to go home in

Car seat

Warm blankets – for the ride home

It is also the time to make sure you know how to fix the car seat in the car, as you do not want to be fiddling with it in the hospital car.
